Commodity Sales Manager
Job Description:
Are you a dynamic leader ready to drive growth and innovation in the animal nutrition commodities sector? Our client seeks a seasoned Sales Manager to spearhead their Animal Nutrition Commodities division. With a primary emphasis on business expansion, this role demands strategic acumen, relationship-building prowess, and a keen eye for market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development: Devise and execute strategies to cultivate and manage the Business-to-Business client portfolio, with feed mills as primary clientele.
Market Expansion: Identify and engage potential contacts, prospects, and partners to expand market reach for magnesium animal nutrition products throughout the USA.
Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market analyses, including competitor assessments, regulatory landscapes, and other relevant factors, to inform strategic decision-making.
Financial Management: Assume responsibility for managing the profit and loss within the designated area, optimizing results in terms of margin, volume, and market share.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and draft sales contracts to maximize profitability and establish mutually beneficial agreements with clients.
Operational Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Operations staff to ensure seamless processing of customer orders, logistics, and payments, while addressing customer complaints effectively.
Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
5+ years of progressive experience in sales or business development within the agriculture or commodities industries.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture business, Business Management, Animal Science, or related fields preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Proven track record of building and maintaining strong customer relationships, coupled with a demonstrated ability to drive sales and exceed targets.
Exceptional negotiation skills, with a deep understanding of supply chain and transportation dynamics.
Entrepreneurial spirit with a results-driven mindset, coupled with a willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
